The Challenge

The IDC, in partnership with the Eastern Regional University Center (CURE), sought to improve coastal management in the Department of Canelones. The goal was to develop a web application that could facilitate the registration, search, and consultation of geographical information related to the coastal areas. Starting with an existing database, the system needed to simplify user interactions, improve data accessibility, and provide an intuitive and user-friendly interface. The application also required support for modern technologies to ensure efficient maintenance and scalability.

The Solution

DigitalProjex delivered a robust web application leveraging the latest web technologies. The solution included:
Automated and simplified processes for uploading Geographic Information Systems (GIS) files.
A user-friendly and visually appealing interface to register and query geographical data.
Advanced search and filtering capabilities for efficient information retrieval.
Role and permission management for secure and controlled system access.
Tools for editing and processing geographic data packages, enabling precise coastal management.

The Result

The updated web application has transformed coastal management for the IDC. With its intuitive interface and robust performance, the system enables efficient handling of geographic information through real-time map integration. This has significantly improved decision-making processes within the Environmental Management Department (DGGA), providing a secure, scalable, and easy-to-administer platform that supports sustainable management of Canelones’ coastal areas.
